Obsidian and Zk

Obsidian and zk, the cli tool for zettelkasten note-taking are a good pair of software to use for note-taking with the zettelkasten method. You can learn more about the zettelkasten method in this site.

I’ve been trying to perfect the usage of these two software for quite a long while now. Although, I am not really a note-taking enthusiast, when it comes to deep subjects, I do tend to do this a lot to find

  • connections easily
  • form relationships between concepts and ideas
  • create a path to where the next idea should be read based on the connected nodes
  • visualize ideas easily even though there is increasing complexity

Combining it with quartz makes it much better since

  • I rarely take notes so I don’t need Obsidian Sync + Publish
  • I can save a lot of money based on the previous point
  • My notes are now published as a website without cost (except with the VPS from Linode)
